The Experience

Before You Go

Arrive Early for Best Photos

Get to the meeting point 15–20 minutes early so the group can depart on time and you can claim a good window seat for the drive and platform access at AWCC.

Dress in Layers and Bring Rain Protection

Coastal wind and mountain sun can trade places quickly—pack a windproof shell and waterproof shoes even in summer.

Keep a Respectful Distance

Use binoculars or a telephoto lens; the center’s viewing platforms are placed for safety and optimal observation—do not try to feed or attract animals.

Pack Snacks and a Reusable Bottle

Bottled water is included, but having snacks and a refillable bottle keeps energy up on cooler days and minimizes waste.
