Race a Legend: America's Cup Day Sail on San Francisco Bay
Step aboard USA 76 for a 2.5-hour, high-energy sail from Pier 39. Expect close-up views of the Golden Gate, Angel Island and the city skyline—plus chances to help trim the sails on a true America's Cup–class racer.
The Experience
Before You Go
Wear grip soles
Flat, closed-toe shoes with rubber soles reduce slip risk on a wet deck and help you move confidently during maneuvers.
Layer for changeable weather
Fog and wind can arrive fast—bring a breathable insulating midlayer and a waterproof outer shell even on warm days.
Bring motion-sickness remedies
Bay chop and wind can be rough; take medication before boarding if you’re prone to seasickness and focus on the horizon.
Arrive early to check in
Plan to arrive 15 minutes before departure at Pier 39 Gate B to sign waivers and stow bags; parking is limited so use transit when possible.

Do I need sailing experience to join?
No. Passengers of all experience levels are welcome; the crew will show basics and invite participation, but you can simply enjoy the ride.

Often—but it depends on wind, fog and safety. If conditions don’t allow, the crew will take alternative routes with excellent skyline views.
What should I wear?
Flat, closed-toe rubber-soled shoes and layered clothing; bring a windproof jacket and sunglasses. Loaner waterproofs are available on board if needed.
Is tipping included?
No. Gratuity for the captain and crew is not included but is customary for good service.
What happens if the trip is canceled for weather or insufficient passengers?
You’ll be offered an alternative date or a full refund; operators monitor conditions and minimum guest counts and will notify you in advance when possible.
Are life jackets provided?
Yes. USCG-approved life jackets are provided and must be worn during racing maneuvers.
