Four-Day Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend Tour from San Francisco
A four-day coach tour from San Francisco to Las Vegas that packs Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Lake Powell and the Grand Canyon’s South and East rims into a tightly scheduled, highlights-driven itinerary. Expect long drives, short hikes, and optional add-ons like kayaking and helicopter flights.
The Experience
Before You Go
Hydrate and carry extra water
Desert sun and short hikes mean you’ll burn through fluids fast — carry at least 1.5–2 liters per person for rim viewpoints and slot canyon visits.
Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes
Sand, slick rock and the stairs in Lower Antelope Canyon require shoes with grip; flip-flops aren’t appropriate.
Bring cash for local fees and tips
Some local vendors, photographic options and small purchases at Page may be cash-preferred; tip guides for canyon tours when appropriate.
Plan for early light or late shade shots
Golden hour in Antelope Canyon and sunrise on the South Rim deliver the best light — schedule photos around those windows to avoid crowds.
Local Knowledge
Hidden Gems
- •Stop briefly at the Seven Magic Mountains public art outside Las Vegas for colorful roadside photos
- •Drive the lesser-used viewpoints along the South Rim for quieter sunset scenes away from the main overlooks
Wildlife
- •Desert bighorn sheep
- •Ravens and canyon wrens
Conservation Note
Stick to established trails and follow Navajo guides’ instructions in the slot canyons — limiting off-trail travel preserves fragile sandstone and cultural sites; water conservation is critical in this arid region.
This corridor was traversed by Indigenous peoples long before Spanish and Mexican claims; much of the canyon country was reshaped by mid-20th-century water projects and the creation of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
Photographer's Notes
- • Horseshoe Bend rim overlook
- • Inside Upper Antelope Canyon light shafts
- • South Rim viewpoints near Mather Point
